April Beauty Favorites
It’s officially May, which means I’m late on delivering my monthly beauty favorites for the month of April! The end of the month has completely flown by and been so busy, but I’m looking forward to May and some of the content I have planned for the Product Junkie! We will have posts covering workwear, blow drying tips and tricks, and an entire post devoted to Cabi Clothing! This month will also bring another fun giveaway happening on our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram), so make sure you’re following along on those accounts for all of the details.
Thanks to the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty, a few of my favorites this month were products I purchased during that sale and I have LOVED them. The Sephora Beauty Insider sale is happening right now, so if you are a Beauty Insider, Rogue member, or not signed up for their beauty rewards then you should be joining! Depending on your tier, the sale starts on a particular day and includes a certain percentage off your purchase! It’s a great time to try new products like I frequently do, or to stock up on your favorites.
My first favorite for the month of April is the Loreal Unlimited mascara. My mother (the OG product junkie) had me try hers last month and I was hooked. It easily beats all of my other favorite drugstore mascaras, and for numerous reasons. I love the lengthening and volumizing capabilities of it. It’s a great formula with minimal clumping, and the brush has a function to angle so that you can really hit the corners of your lashes for maximum flaring effect. It also is available pretty much everywhere and in a waterproof formula, so that’s a win-win for affordability!
My second favorite product this month is the IT cosmetics “Bye Bye Pores” loose powder. I had mentioned on a previous post about the Thrive Causemetics setting powder and how great it was…and it still is! However, the IT cosmetics powder I ordered during the Ulta sale is a oily-complected woman’s dream. It’s lightweight, leaves no flashback, and really sets the under-eye area well! It’s truly a great product for the entire face.
Pro tip: use a damp beauty blender in the powder to really “set” your under-eye area with the powder and in areas that are oily-prone (your T zone) to really get the “Bye Bye Pores” effect! It’s available from Ulta here, or Sephora here if you’re shopping the VIB sale!
The third favorite product I tried this month was the Milani Rose Powder blush. This blush was talked about by some of my favorite bloggers that I follow, so of course I had to try it! It’s available in 4 shades, and the shade I purchased was “Romantic Rose”. I love the pigmentation of the blush, the rose shade is universally flattering on many skin tones, and I liked that it was the one shade that did not contain shimmer. Sometimes when I’m applying bronzer and a highlight shade, I don’t want my blush to also be full of shimmer…so a matte finish is sometimes the way to go! I’ve been super impressed with the blush, and with such a large pan I think it’ll last a long time!
The last product of the month of April is a Sephora specialty, but I’ve been absolutely smitten with the Sephora Cream Stain Liquid Lipstick! It is one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I’ve ever used and is extremely cost effective and affordable at just $14. It applies richly like a liquid lipstick, but also acts like a stain with some serious staying power. It’s also available in a TON of different shades and I can get through an entire cocktail hour and dinner without this stuff even budging! It’s also not drying or cakey-feeling like some liquid lipsticks can start to feel after an hour or so. It’s a highly recommend from the Product Junkie if you’re in the market for a new liquid lipstick to try! (The color I chose and love is pictured above in the shade “Rosewood”)
So there is a brief review for some of the loved products I’ve tried during the month of April! As I mentioned above, I have quite a bit of content planned for the month of May and a fun giveaway happening over on Instagram or Facebook! So click the icons in the upper left-hand corner of this page to follow along on either of those social media platforms! And as always, thanks for reading along!
xoxo, Chelsea
