My Favorite Drugstore Beauty Products

Happy Wednesday lovelies!

When I took a small poll last week over on the ol’ Instagram stories, I saw quite a bit of interest covering makeup, skincare and hair styling. So in my planning for blog posts over the next two months, I’m going to try to address more of that type of content! Even better, I’m going to focus on some seriously economical blog content this week. This post will feature many of my favorite drugstore beauty products, and I’ll have a post on Friday with some fun, affordable fashion items I’ve picked up lately!

I use probably 40% drugstore and 60% non when it comes to my makeup routine. Lately, there are many brands that create products to mimic those of more prestige brands, and OFTEN they work just as well! Many of these are products such as those that I have tried, tested, and love! They’re all linked below for easy shop-ability, and right now at Target if you spend $20 on beauty, personal care, or health you get a $5 gift card in return….so it’s basically like only spending $15 right?? 😉

First let’s start with the base of makeup, primer!
Two of my favorite makeup primer products include:

  • Milani Prime Light SPF Primer
I’ve mentioned this primer before on the blog, but it is an excellent makeup option to get your daily SPF on your face! It’s not greasy like a sunscreen and is an easy way to get your face protected, primed and ready before makeup, or no makeup!
  • Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime Primer
I use the poreless version of this primer, and I would easily compare it to Smashbox’s cult favorite primer. However the benefit to this one, is it is a fraction of the price! It also works extremely well, even in these hot summer months!

The next makeup section to discuss are face products!

  • Physicians Formula Mineral Powder
This pressed powder is much cheaper than Bare Minerals, and works great! The mineral quality helps to keep oiliness at bay, and its extremely lightweight.
  • Milani Rose Powder Blush
This blush is a BEAUT! I have tried it both in the shades “Romantic Rose” and “Blossomtime Rose”, and it is a great non-shimmer blush that is long-lasting and gorgeous!
  • Milani Silky Matte Bronzing Powder
This bronzer is similar to the Rose Powder blush in the fact that it is non-shimmer, which is great for those of you that don’t love too much shimmer! It’s also available in three gorgeous shades so you can pick the perfect shade of bronze for your complexion. And with the low prices of both products, you can get both for the fraction of the price of a prestige palette!

The next area of makeup products are the eyes!

  • Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara
If you saw my Mascara breakdown comparison blog post, I feature this mascara in there because it’s truly a great mascara! Leaves lashes extremely voluminous, and they make a lash primer now too that works great teamed together!
  • Loreal Lash Unlimited Mascara
I started using this mascara after I had already published the mascara blog post, which is a bummer because it’s an excellent drugstore mascara! Loreal is clearly the favorite for me on mascaras, but this one has a handy angled brush and is not only great at volumizing, but also lengthening!
  • Loreal Brow Stylist Definer
I pencil my eyebrows every. single. stinking. day. Needless to say, I go through a LOT of brow pencil. I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills pencils, but when you go through as much as I do, I needed a more economical option. That’s where this Brow Stylist pencil stepped in. All of the Brow Stylist products are excellent, but the Definer pencil allows you to make precise, pencil-thin strokes, which is perfect for filling in thin spots or shaping your brows!
  • Milani Pure Passion Eye Palette
I’ve discussed this eye palette before so I’ll spare you the schpeel. BUT, it contains some gorgeous shades, half shimmer and half matte, and they are perfect for all seasons and eye colors!

Last, but not least, we get to the lips!

  • NYX Lip Liner
I purchased the shade “Ever”, and this is a great basic lip liner that comes in many shades! The “Ever” shade pairs beautifully with the Milani Keep It Full Gloss or any lipstick you use on top! Liner helps to keep your lip color in place and prevent bleeding into the rest of your makeup.
  • Milani Keep It Full Lip Plumping Gloss
I have been obsessed with this gloss for months, and the shades I love include: “Rosewood”, “Soft Rose”, and “Sparkling Pink”. It only has a slight tingly feeling, and is an easy-to-wear lightweight lipgloss!
  • Maybelline Super Stay Liquid Lipstick
If you want to try a longwear liquid lipstick but don’t want to spend a fortune, then look no further! The Maybelline Super Stay is awesome, and it truly lasts for hours on end…through eating, drinking, and maybe more eating, it literally does not budge. Some of the colors I personally love include “Lover”, “Artist”, and “Ruler”.
  • Milani Color Statement Lipstick
This is a $5 or less lipstick, that is so creamy and softening! I have the color “Dulce Caramelo” which is a nude tone, but I think I’m going to try “Plumrose” and “Best Red” for the upcoming fall months!
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick
I have this in the shade “Brown Blush”, and it is the most gorgeous soft, nude, rose color! This is also a softening lipstick and is so easy to wear!
  • NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil
This lightweight lip oil packs some serious color punch! I have it in the shade “Red Queen”, and I love how lightweight it is and dries quickly!

As I mentioned earlier, it’ll be a double-post week so expect another blog post on Friday with some affordable fashion pieces! I’m feeling super productive, and I’ve got some extra time to work on stuff while my husband and I drive to Denver for a little pre-anniversary trip! Hopefully you try some of the above beauty products, and if you have any questions feel free to drop them below!

xoxo, Chelsea
