February Favorites
Hello lovelies!
The beginning of March is upon is, which means it’s time for February favorites!
The weather here is so cold and drab, and I’m really hoping that spring will make her appearance in the next month ahead! Last month I said that every month I would round up five of my favorite products that I may have tried over the last month, or perhaps have used as a tried-and-true favorite. This month, I have a mixture of skincare, makeup, hair, and a fun item for my February favorites! Let’s get this party started.
The first February favorite on the list is this new moisturizer from Paula’s Choice Skincare (Hydralight Moisture Infusing Lotion). I discovered this brand through a random internet search, and I am so glad that I did! This moisturizer has easily replaced my tried-and-true Clinique Dramatically Different Gel, and I love how it feels, smells, and most importantly – hydrates! Paula’s Choice is a great brand that creates high-quality skincare products at more affordable prices. Even my new dermatologist recommended looking into them, which I took to be a very good endorsement! There’s tons of information on their website about skincare concerns, and they have products for a variety of issues. This lightweight moisturizer is the perfect combination of a lightweight cream that’s hydrating for my dry, combination skin, but not too heavy or greasy. That’s a win-win right there!
Second and third on the February favorites list is the Fresh Sugar lip treatment and my favorite concealer, the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. The Sugar lip treatment (shade is Fig) is a tinted lip balm that is so conditioning to the lips, and it packs subtle color that I love to wear daily! It does contain SPF 15 and so many great ingredients including antioxidant-rich grapeseed oil. There are so many beautiful colors available on the Sephora website and you can even score them in a combo kit sometimes.
The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is a godsend of a concealer. Not too heavy or cakey, blendable formula, looks great in the under-eye area, and works as an all-face product on the days I’m crunched for time. This concealer really does it all! Not to mention, it also comes in tons of different colors with three different undertones so you can find your perfect match. It helps in covering up my wintertime rosacea, under-eye circles, and every blemish I come across. Tarte has also launched a Shape Tape Foundation, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one in March!
The fourth February favorite is one of my most crucial hair styling products….texturizing spray. And not just any texturizing spray, but the best one – Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. I had tried to wean myself off of it due to the price of the product (usually around $46), but when a dear friend alerted me to Zulily having a good deal on it and other Oribe products, I couldn’t say no to returning back to the OG. A texturizing spray will work wonders on curled hair or straight hair. It adds volume and texture for a more undone look, and I love also using it at the root to build volume and soak up excess oil on those 2nd (or 3rd) day hairdos. Not to mention, it literally smells like heaven.
If you find the price of Oribe to be a deterrent, I have a solution for you! I’ve been using this Kristin Ess Working Texture Spray for the last couple months in lieu of the Oribe, and I must say that it does compare well to the favorite. The texture isn’t too gritty, it adds good volume, and also smells super good! It also comes in at a whopping $14, so quite a price difference between the Oribe and the Kristin Ess.
Last but not least is a fun bonus item, just because I think its so cute! I recently purchased this Katie Loxton pouch and I just love it! It’s the perfect size to fit in almost all of my purses for all of my girly goodies [seriously I have like 10 lipsticks in there and a powder compact], or great to carry solo too as a clutch! There’s tons of different pouches and handbags in her collection in various colors, metallics, and cute sayings! They would also make lovely gifts since they’re a great quality faux leather.
So therein lies my February favorites! I had a few more products I could discuss, but we can save those for a later time when I’ve really developed full opinions on them. I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of winter, and if you’re not, then hopefully spring will be here soon! (Fingers crossed!)
Also, please don’t forget that the Sephora Squad is still taking testimonials to help boost my application to join the Squad, so if you feel like doing so, you can leave me a positive review at https://www.sephorasquad.com/testimonial/theproductjunkieblog
Have a great rest of your week!
