June Beauty Favorites
Happy summer everyone!
It’s been a busy month for June, and July should be shaping up to be just as busy around here! We had lots of weekend projects going, gardening, traveling, birthdays, the fun never ends!
I’ve also gotten a little behind on blogging over the last week because we unexpectedly had to put our dog down. My little Fritz was adopted by my sister and I almost 8 years ago, and he was my best bud. An abandoned and neglected rescue dog, he was the always the sweetest dog. Truly, he was the best dog, and I miss him so much it’s honestly unreal. So we are still doing some grieving around here, but I’m trying my best to get back into managing things at home and with the blog!
This month I did try quite a few new products, including an inexpensive hair tool that I am loving! There’s makeup, skin care and hair tools, and they’re all perfect for summertime! You can shop the items directly through the widget below, or I will include text links for each item if you’re interested or want to keep it in mind!
My first monthly favorite is the new flat iron I purchased at Ulta. I did a lot of research trying to find an affordable flat iron after I finally decided that maybe my 8 year old flat iron wasn’t quite cutting it. I wanted something that had automatic shut-off, ceramic and/or titanium plates, adjustable heat settings, and a rounded body to use for flat iron waves. I purchased one that just didn’t cut it, and then I found this Conair flat iron. It checked off all of my boxes, heats up in 15 seconds or less, easily straightened my curly hair in fewer passes, AND it’s under $50!! Right now, it’s actually on sale for $35 and I’m baffled. It has been a great flat iron, and works great for straightening or waves, so I would HIGHLY encourage you to check it out if you are in the market for a new flat iron!
Next on the list are the Invisibobble hair rings. I’ve been using many similar hair ties (or pony tail holders….whichever you prefer to say!) and I am a proud supporter of the tele-tie type hair elastic. However, the Invisibobbles are hands down some of the best. These small, stretchy little suckers don’t pull out your hair, leave minimal to no pony tail creases, and they easily hold your hair up all day! Just these little guys hold up my messy bun all day without any problem! They’re perfect for hot summer days to throw your hair up, and the Invisibobble brand is the best for stretch and shrinkage when you’re done wearing them. They also come in many hair-toned colors, and my personal favorite, clear.
Here we have my new favorite lip combination, which is completely customizable to your color preferences! I decided to try out a lip liner underneath my beloved Milani plumping gloss, and I was SO PLEASED with the outcome! It makes a subtle color difference, while not being as much of a commitment as a lipstick, by just adding some lip liner to shape and shade your lips, then throwing on this beautiful gloss on top, you have a lightweight and easily correctable summer lip! I chose the shade “Ever” in the NYX Lip Pencil and it paired perfectly with my favorite “Rosewood” Milani Keep it Full Plumping Gloss. Now obviously, there are so many different options to pair all kinds of liner colors with any kind of lip gloss, but I personally loved the beautiful rosy/mauve color I got with the outcome.
This product is brand new to the Tula line last month, and when I heard/saw about it, I knew it had to be tested by the Product Junkie! This Tula Face Filter Primer instantly smooths the appearance of uneven skin tones, while adding warmth and radiance to your complexion. It literally starts off white, then as you rub your fingers together it warms up to somewhat match your skin color and applies so smoothly to the face! It looks beautiful worn alone as a light complexion corrector on hot summer days, or works wonderfully under makeup too as a true “primer”. The other great thing about it, is that Tula packs all of their products with great natural ingredients and probiotics, so it’s hydrating and great for your skin! With it’s “glow particles”, its the perfect skincare and makeup addition for that summer sun-kissed look!
Last, but not least, is my favorite MAC Paint Pot! The perfect cream eyeshadow that is perfect for wearing solo or as a primer for other eyeshadow. I use the shade “Painterly”, but there are lots of beautiful shades of this cream eyeshadow that I love to wear daily with a touch of blush on top on days when I’m in a hurry, or the best eyeshadow primer when I’m going for a full-shadow look. Nothing falls out from this stuff! In the eyeshadow tutorial video I will have out soon, I mention my love for this stuff…because I will never go without it from now on!
So there you have it! A few favorite new products for the month of June! I’ll be getting to the eyeshadow tutorial very soon, so stay tuned for all of that! And as always, if you are shopping my links included, please try to open them in your web browser instead of the direct apps so that they can be tracked by ShopStyle! I certainly appreciate it, and I appreciate you reading as always!
