Well hello there, friend!
I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post, so let’s take a minute to catch up real quick! It’s been a busy summer, as my husband and I sold our first house in OKC, bought a new house in Piedmont, and moved with our now-one year-old baby girl. We celebrated her first birthday in our new house, and then got to take a family vacation to Santa Rosa Beach! Olivia loved the beach and the water, and it was a great trip with our family. Now Liv is entering her toddler years, getting into everything possible, and keeping my husband and I on our toes constantly, but it’s so fun seeing her learn and explore the world lately.
I’ve tried some products I’ve really liked lately, so I figured I should share them with you here!
My new handbag for the fall and pictured here is the Zip-top Transport Crossbody from Madewell, and I absolutely love it. I had been wanting a Madewell bag for a while now, due to their durability with 100% leather and timeless silhouettes. I personalized mine and snagged it on sale, and it’s great to keep all kinds of things in! I customized it further by adding in this striped handbag strap from Amazon that’s perfect for the fall, and fully adjustable in length! I love changing out my purse strap on multiple handbags for a fun touch.
A few new favorite skincare products I’ve been using have been two moisturizers from Olay. I have been using the retinol formula in the evenings after cleansing, and the vitamin C moisturizer in the morning. I finally decided at age 32, it was probably time to add in a retinol to my skincare routine *sigh*. This one is very gentle, and I haven’t had any issues adding it into my routine, especially with my fairly sensitive skin! I’ve also been using a new hair product I’m very fond of, thanks to the Allure Best of Beauty Awards. The Nexxus Hydralight Serum is great for anyone that needs to contain frizz or keep their hair smooth on a daily basis. I really like that you can use it on wet hair before heat styling/drying, and retouch dry hair with it as well to soften and hydrate dry hair.
Lastly, I have a couple tried-and-true makeup products I’ve been using all summer and loving. The first is the Loreal Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Serum. You can use this underneath foundation, or I find that using it along with my usual Tarte Shapetape concealer is enough coverage for me on a daily basis! The dropper applicator make it super easy to apply, and I find it buffs in best with a foundation brush. I’ve also been addicted to the Kosas Air Brow, and I do think it’s the best brow gel-type product I have ever used. It really amps up the volume for your brows, as well as being packed full of good ingredients to help promote eyebrow hair growth. It’s a win-win for sure! You can buy it tinted and un-tinted, but I use the shade Taupe. My last favorite is the Powder Puff from BeautyBlender. I had seen this used in a makeup artist’s TikTok, and after seeing the flawless look it gave for the under-eye area, I knew I had to try it. It perfectly smooths out the under-eye concealer and helps prevent creasing. It’s also great for makeup baking techniques as well!
Hopefully you find something that you may have been looking for, or if there’s something you have in mind I’m always happy to lend a helpful opinion! I hope you all have been well!
