Workwear with the Product Junkie

*Cue Who Run the World……Girls*

I had shared a workwear-inspired picture on my Instagram a couple weeks ago, of which I had some followers share interest in seeing more workwear outfits. Since I only wear scrubs or jeans and some sort of shirt 5 days out of the week, I was more than happy to oblige and pretend for a day that I get to wear these adorable outfits more than I usually do! I had a lot of fun coordinating outfits and even wore these to my conference last week. Whether you’re a business professional, teacher, or any other kind of office staff that requires a business professional to business casual wardrobe, hopefully these outfits and the other items I’ve included will speak to you. I will also discuss ways that each outfit could be dressed up, or dressed down given the occasion or profession!

Also there’s some exciting news around here, and a small disclaimer, but I have been accepted to join ShopStyle Collective! It works similarly to LikeToKnowIt, if you are familiar with that platform. How it works is that I will link everything in the post that I am able to, and if you click the products in the section below the photos it will take you directly to that product. It also gives you the power as the consumer to monitor products and save them to your account if you want to keep an eye out for it and wait for a better sale price. It will even alert you to a better sale price, and also shows discounts on the products I link here! I do make a very, very small commission if you do shop through the links I provide, all of which is greatly appreciated since every small bit helps to keeping the blog going and the products coming! So if you notice the blog posts looking a little different, it’s because I am trying to “get with the times” and incorporate a better shopping-driven interface that is much more convenient to you, the reader! I have more information at the bottom of this post for ShopStyle Q’s and A’s!

So without further ado, let’s get to some of the outfits!

Outfit One

Our first of three outfits incorporates a pair of of pants that I ordered as a gamble, but fell in love with for the fit, style, and color! I don’t own many items of clothing that are red, but I just felt that these red pants were a fun statement and can easily be toned down by only incorporating neutral clothing options with them! Or if you’re not scared of color, then go for a fun colorful top to tie into the pants! The Pixie pant from Old Navy is easily one of the most comfortable and forgiving pair of pants you can purchase for the office. They’re a great length sitting right at the ankle, and are made of a stretchy material that is comfortable, wrinkle-free, and made for movement! I personally own three pairs of Pixie pants and they really are so great for the office setting, teaching, a conference, date night, or grabbing a drink after work. I styled them with a simple black wedge, but you can obviously change out the shoe for a sensible flat or mule for added comfort. I also saved multiple comfortable options for wedges if you like the look, not to mention an espadrille or wedge is great for the summer! Just click through the products in the widgets for each outfit combo to see all of the linked products! Another note for this outfit is that you can easily throw on a black cardigan (I have linked my favorite above) or a black blazer to add a touch of dressiness to the outfit!

Outfit Two

The second outfit also incorporates my beloved Pixie pants in a navy color, but is a slightly more casual vibe. Perfect for all of my teacher friends! I had planned on styling this look with my favorite pair of beige mules, but I was kind of liking the sneaker look with the ankle pants! I have linked multiple sneakers above as well as many neutral options for flats or mules that could have easily tied into the outfit. What I love about navy is that so many colors look exceptional with it, without feeling as boring as black! I styled it with one of my favorite Loft tops that has a slight peplum at the bottom of the sweater. While it is no longer available, I linked many other adorable options below that would look amazing with navy. There’s also so many other beautiful colors that look wonderful with navy such as pink, coral, yellow, red and green! Keep that in mind when you feel yourself in a clothing rut trying to select tops for your pants and vise versa!

Outfit Three

The last outfit is definitely a casual Friday outfit, but I love the versatility of each item included. I have my favorite pair of straight jeans, a versatile mule shoe, and a black top. While it’s a relatively tame outfit, I always try to structure each outfit around one “statement” piece. Whether its red pants or a leopard shoe, I feel like it’s easier to select an outfit if I have several things to build around something I really want to wear! For this outfit, it was definitely my new cheetah mules from DSW. I also love that this look is more casual, but still more put together than just a typical t-shirt and jeans. It can easily be dressed up enough to grab coffee or drinks with a friend after work. I could have picked a more interesting shirt, but sometimes black just feels sleek and put together, especially with a front tuck and a fun belt!

Obviously there are so many possibilities out there for workwear including skirts, long pants and blouses. Any of the tops that I have included would easily work with longer pants if your job requires them, and I find that Loft has some of the best shell-type blouses to work well with jackets or cardigans…but as always that’s just personal opinion! If you take any cues from this post or the items I’ve included, share it and share/tag The Product Junkie so I can see what you guys are liking from the post!

I will be working on some capsule-based outfit posts to help you structure some of the things that you already have in your wardrobe and how to give them a new “spin”! Sometimes you just need to revamp some of the things you already have, or add in some different staple pieces to see how to style things differently. Hopefully you’ve found this post informative and helpful to give you some new ideas and pieces to add into your workwear wardrobe! Thanks as always for reading, loves!

xoxo, Chelsea

*ShopStyle How To’s*

So if you’re unfamiliar with platforms like ShopStyle or LikeToKnowIt, basically it’s a blogger platform to instantly link products to their readers and consumers. It’s great because the interface is so blogging-friendly, but there are few things to know! If you want to see what I share on ShopStyle and to keep track of items for a better sale price, you will have to create an account on ShopStyle. It’s free, easy, and there’s apps for your phone or use your computer! They have millions of products on there for you to check out! Another bonus to ShopStyle is that if you have an Ebates account, you can link the two (both Rakuten companies) so that you can utilize the sale savings as well as Ebates cash back!
If you ever have difficulties finding my page on ShopStyle, I have a badge pinned on the right side of my blog underneath the information section that will take you directly to my ShopStyle page. If you have any questions or difficulties, please don’t hesitate to ask!
