February Favorites

Oh my goodness ya’ll!

Is it just me, or did January seem to take 10 years and February only took 10 seconds to fly by?? Because that’s what it seems like!

It’s already the end of the month, which means we are already recapping my new favorite beauty products of the month! I’ve got quite a few new products to discuss, so let’s get into it!

Urban Decay Vice Lip Tint

This a brand new lip product that I mentioned a few weeks ago over on the ol’ Instastories, and I’m still really liking it! The product applies and feels like a lip balm + gloss hybrid, but it leaves a lasting color for hours with the tint capabilities! It’s easily buildable for more saturated color, and it is also layerable (since I sometimes put gloss over the top). I purchased the shade “Lovechild” and its a great, subtle pink. The last cool thing about this product, is that it is somewhat customizable, because the chemistry aspect reacts to the pH of your lips to give you a personalized color! It’s lightweight, comes in many shades, and perfect for everyday use.

Cabaret Mascara

This mascara was recommended to me by a friend, and I had forgotten about it until a little while ago while I was perusing Amazon and adding to my ever-growing wishlist (which is mainly there for my husband’s benefit come gift season). I was skeptical about a vegan mascara from Amazon, but I am so glad I was wrong! This mascara surpassed my expectations and I have been loving it! It doesn’t flake, and after a couple coats it easily performs just as well at volumizing my lashes as some of my cult favorites. It also is exceptional at lengthening and separating the lashes thanks to the wand. It’s a small wand, which makes tight-lining at the base of the lash line a breeze! And also at $12 with free prime shipping, what’s not to love??

Tula Primers

I’ve talked about the Tula face filter primer before on the blog, but now Tula has added a new primer that I HAD to try! The Brighten Up primer is great for several reasons, and I’m glad I’ve been able to try both products and compare and contrast them. The Brighten Up primer is great because it is SILICONE free! Most primers contain silicone to smooth out and fill your pores to give you that poreless look, but the Brighten Up contains none and still manages to give you that smooth, ready for makeup look! It also contains Yuzu, which is high in Vitamin C (a skincare wonder product) to brighten dull skin. And the last thing about the Brighten Up primer is that I felt like it really helped to “grip” my makeup for a longer-lasting application.

While I love the Face Filter primer for my more minimal makeup days because of it’s shade-building capabilities and the beautiful glow it gives you, the Brighten Up is truly for makeup-wearers. Plus, you get the added skincare benefits of the Tula probiotic products in both!

Eva NYC Dry Shampoo

I ran out of my beloved Living Proof Dry Shampoo this month, and as someone who attempts to wash their hair on at least the third day, I had to find a replacement. I went to Ulta to buy my usual Living Proof and stumbled upon this Eva NYC Dry Shampoo instead. It’s half the price of my usual, and I have been very impressed! If I were to rate the Living Proof as a perfect 10, the Eva NYC is a 8.5/9 out of 10. It absorbs oil well without weighing down hair or giving you that really powdery look, and it smells AMAZING! If you’ve ever used Amika products, she scent of the Eva NYC is uncanny to Amika! While I was scared to try this since nothing ever lives up to the full capabilities of my tried-and-true LP, the Eva NYC is definitely going to be a hair staple for me due to the price, scent, and performance.

Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant

I’ve recently begun using this product again in my skincare regimen due to battling some breakouts as of late (aren’t hormones fun??). I love Paula’s Choice products because they’re quality products without costing you a total arm and a leg. The BHA liquid exfoliant is an easy product to use and their best seller for many reasons. Beta hydroxy acid (BHA, also known as salicylic acid) mimics the natural exfoliation process of younger skin by helping it shed extra layers while unclogging and clearing pores. It’s great for all kinds of skin and targets many skin issues, whether young or old. I just dab a bit on a cotton pad nightly, and use it like I would a toner before moisturizing. It helps with skin radiance and texture so much!

Hopefully these opinions help you to find something new you may want to test and try out! And if you ever need any other product recommendations, whether makeup, skincare, or haircare, I’m always happy to help recommend a product or point you in the right direction! Thanks as always for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of your week!
