Quarantine Favorites

March is finally over you guys!

It was a marathon, but now it’s finally April so I wanted to recap some favorite products this month! Most of these I have geared around self-care/other things to keep you occupied during this time of quarantine and social distancing! It’s a great time to bust out some new hobbies, refine your nail painting technique, or get serious about your skin care routine and show yourself some TLC!

Nail Care

It’s a great time to refine your nail painting technique! You can use my beloved Essie Gel Couture (linked above) for an easy 2-step process that’s sure to hold up well with all this hand washing, or purchase the Olive & June beginner set that comes with colors, top coat, tools, and the Poppy to make your nail polish easier to apply! You can find that here. I’m going to be testing out a nail dip powder routine, and once I give that a go, I’ll be sure to let you know what I think!

Skin Care

During this time, if you can’t catch some actual sun outside, there’s plenty of self-tanning products that you have time to apply! And if you need application tips, you can check out my blog post on those here!
I’ve also linked my favorite new glycolic acid face wash from Amazon that’s great for all skin types. There’s some excellent epsom salts linked above for a good soak in the tub, as well as a few other Target favorites that you can easily drive up to pick up and avoid people in the store! One of my favorite drug store makeup products is the Revlon Photo Ready powder, and it’s so great for minimal makeup days over a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, and it gives you just a bit of coverage!

Hair Care

Since you won’t be able to get your hair done for a bit, I’ve linked some excellent home hair color gloss options that are great for any hair color! They’re easily accessible right now through Target pick-up or delivery, and they’re great for sprucing up blonde, red, brunette, black or even colorless options! Perfect for smoothing down your hair cuticle, repairing damage, and enhancing your color. I also linked my favorite blonde hair masque, available to ship from Ulta!

Hobbies

As for hobbies to enjoy during some of this down time (or just extended home time), I’m enjoying reading! Some books I’m currently reading or about to read include:

  • The Daughter by Jane Shemilt
  • The Lying Game by Ruth Ware
  • The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay
  • Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
  • The Boy from the Woods by Harlan Coben

Other fun hobbies you can do in your free time include baking, cooking, I love little craft kits from Etsy for things like needlepointing and embroidery, sewing and more! Basically, just do whatever makes you happy – exercising, reading, the Tiger King on Netflix…you name it!

I hope you all are staying home, staying safe, and staying healthy! I’ll be back soon with more ideas how to keep yourself happy during these uncertain times!
