Style your Closet – Part Two

Well hello, hello there!

As I promised weeks ago, I’m working on a multi-part blog post series on how to style quintessential pieces in your closet. Sometimes all you need is a good refresh of things you already own to make them feel brand new! And if you don’t already have one, then to demonstrate why you need to incorporate it soon! This week we are working with one of my faves…the JEAN JACKET!

There are so many fun ways to utilize a jean jacket into your wardrobe. Dress it up, dress it down, distress it, make it light, dark…you get the picture! The one I’m wearing here is a fave from Old Navy (linked here) and they have made it for several years because it’s been THAT popular. I’ll demonstrate the ways to style/incorporate it into your wardrobe easily below.

Everyday

  • Everyday wear means rocking it with jeans!
  • If you don’t love the denim on denim look, make sure you have contrasting washes (light jacket/ dark jeans, etc.) to avoid the classic Canadian tuxedo look
  • Or if in doubt, wear black!
  • Looks great over tee shirts, sweaters (as shown above), or over a flannel or button-down top for a casual vibe

Dressy/Edgy

  • Denim jackets are so great for adding to dresses and skirts
  • They can dial down the dressiness of an outfit (as shown above with the cheetah skirt)
  • Added layer on top of jumpsuits or dresses (shown above)
  • Look great over tank tops and office pants for a casual office vibe
  • Can easily dress up the jacket too depending on your footwear choice (flats vs. sandals vs. wedge)

Athleisure

  • Jean jackets dress up any athleisure look!
  • Perfect for adding over leggings, joggers, or tying around your waist
  • Comfy clothes + jean jacket = perfect weekend attire (need I say more?)

So there you have some fresh perspectives on how to refresh that jean jacket hanging at the back of your closet! Next week, I’ll be sharing all kinds of fresh decor inspiration for your home on the blog…so stay tuned for that! Now go find that forgotten jean jacket and rock that bad boy until summertime shows up!
